Better Late Than Never!!!

Last weekend was fun but I had no pictures to show until this past Friday when I FINALLY copied them from my mom's camera! I had forgotten my camera for both events and wanted to post but kept forgetting!!!
Anyway....(to get on with the story) I took Kate to JB Hunt park after school and Grandma and Auntie Megs joined us. Auntie Megs was super nice and brought us (adults) a Starbucks coffee! We had lots of fun playing with Kate. Kate loved going down the slide...although she hasn't figured out to lift her legs a little so she can actually slide down! We had to lift her legs for her. Of course, in true Kate fashion, there was a minor meltdown when we had to leave. After we loaded up and headed home, the slide was temporarily forgotten and she started talking about Daddy and her "pups".

On Saturday, we walked in the annual Heart Walk at Arvest Ballpark. We have participated in this walk for several years as a tribute to my Uncle Mark. Mark died from a massive heart attack at the age of 45. Dustin didn't join us because he was still working. It was kind of cramped because we all had to walk around the inside of the stadium. Kate didn't mind because she got to "drive" her little car around. Everyone thought she was so cute in her little car! I have to admit that she was in fact very cute, but I'm biased:). Later that day we all went to Mass and then to Cracker Barrel for dinner. Of course...I didn't bring my camera! Kate ended up with more "cute" clothes for Fourth of July, a Raggedy Ann outfit, and an Easter outfit for next year. It was a great weekend!

Easter Fun!!

Easter weekend was very busy for us! On Saturday, Mom, Megan and I took Kate to an Easter egg hunt. It was sponsored by the Wal-Mart DC Mom works for. Kate had fun bouncing in the bounce house and swinging and sliding on the playground equipment. When it was time to hunt the eggs Kate was more interested in picking up the loose candy on the ground.:) After that, Dustin and Daddy met us at Golden Corral for lunch. Later that night we dyed Easter Eggs. Kate liked picking up the eggs and I helped her carefully put them into the cup. It was a great day!!!!

On Sunday, Dustin, Kate and I went to Mass. Kate was fascinated with "church". This is probably because we haven't been in forever and I kept telling her that we had to be quiet. Every time she said church, she would follow with "ya see 'im?". Now I don't know who the "him" was she kept referring to....could be Father, could be God....not really sure but it was kind of strange. Anyway, Kate was very well behaved and even stopped to listen a few times. After this we quickly went to Mom's to take a family Easter picture and let Kate see her Easter basket from Grandma and Grandpa and from Sharon. She was much more interested in their baskets than ours at home but this could be because she was not completely awake for ours. Then we went to my aunt and uncle's house for Easter dinner. We ended up leaving a little earlier than normal because Kate desperately needed a nap. It was an exciting day but by the end we were all exhausted!!!!

Easter Bunny!!

On Tuesday, we took Kate to see the Easter Bunny at the mall. I was not worried about her causing a scene because she had visited Santa Claus without a meltdown. The only "bad" thing about the visit was that she wouldn't smile for the camera. We were surprised to see an empty line to see the Easter Bunny. Kate was aprehensive at first but we reassured her that the bunny was nice. Dustin fixed her outfit and pulled her finger out of her nose while I tried to get her to smile. Nothing. She was not smiling for anything or anyone!! A time or two she would turn to look at the bunny, but no smile.:( So I told the photographer to just take a picture because I didn't think she was going to smile. Dustin goes to pay for the picture and I get Kate. Wouldn't you know that little stinker started talking up a storm..."Hi Bunny...rabbit....nice rabbit" and all the while smiling the biggest, cutest smile? Of course! Anyway, she didn't freak out and came away loving the Easter Bunny. She does resemble me as a young girl. The expression in the picture is very similar to one of mine around the same age...well, maybe 3 years old.

Happy 20 Months!!!

Kate, today you are 20 Months old!!! You are learning new things everyday. At school today you had an Easter egg hunt and found some "pretty" eggs. Your teachers said that you enjoyed looking for the eggs. I believe them because Daddy and I hid your eggs and you loved trying to find them at home. These are some of the things you are doing now:

*Lately you have had some trouble sleeping. You are talking in your sleep! I think it is waking you up and sometimes it's hard for you to fall back asleep. No worries baby girl, Grandma says it's just a phase.:)

*You like to give Bella and Sophie (Soapy) orders like: "Get down", "Sit", "'Mon pups", "Bella enough". You also like helping Mommy and Daddy feed Bella and Sophie by bringing us their food bowl.

*Creep Mousy is still your favorite game in the morning despite still being tired (remember you're waking up some during the night).

*You suprised us all when you started calling your clothes "cute" or "pretty"

*Right now you are in between sizes. 18 Months are getting too tight/short but 24 Months are still kind of big/long on you.

*You enjoy eating your "loops" and telling us what color you're eating. You also like opening the pantry door and getting out your own snack.

*Cleaning is your "thing" right now. You like to use a wipe and "clean" the kitchen floor.

*You can sing your ABC's from A-G correctly and then L, P, S, V, and Z. You practice this song literally every day! I love hearing your little voice singing your ABC's!!

*You like to cover your face with something (your hands, washcloth, wipe, blanket) and say "ehr Kate?" (Where's Kate?)

*You can name your eyes, ears, nose, mouth, head, toes, feet, hands, fingers and more recently your knee and "elmo"(elbow)

*Being outside for anything is your absolute favorite thing to do right now! In fact, when we go inside you throw a huge fit!!!

*You are fascinated with taking shoes off and putting them on again!

*You love coloring pictures and naming the color you are using too.

I'm sure there are many things that I am forgetting that you can do right now. You are just too darn smart baby girl!!! Mommy and Daddy as well as Grandma, Grandpa and Auntie Megs are so impressed and amazed at what you can do!!! We love you Kate!!!
